Lately, I’ve really been in my head. Letting negative thoughts control my mood, my day. I’ve come to realize most of the things I’m worrying about are things out of my control. The future for example, how can I possibly control that? I can’t. I can only control the now.
I tend to work myself up often over the future. It’s one of the main things I continue to worry about. I wish I could be more in the now. I’ve gotten better with this, but like anything, you can always grow and get even better.
Whenever I feel like this, I try to remember the affirmations learnt and used in the hospital. I always recall having to do ‘my homework’ of 20 positive affirmations about myself and I could barely get down 15. I needed a friend in the unit to help me get down another five.
Due to this, I was upfront with the staff about how difficult it was for me to come up with positive affirmations and things to say about myself. They then gave me a list of 101 positive affirmations to use and try to instill into my daily life. I’ve tried to practice and make a priority of telling myself more positive affirmations daily. Especially after leaving the hospital.
Affirmations are positive statements that you can speak out loud or silently and will impact your life in ways you never thought were possible. Positive affirmations do work if they are practiced daily and correctly.
With how I’ve been feeling lately, I couldn't even resonate with some that said things like, “I am happy and content with my life”, “I am very good at letting go”, “I love being myself”, and other affirmations containing things directly about me and my life and how much I love it. Instead I went through the list and tried to pick ones I KNEW I felt and ones others could resonate with easier as well. Especially if you’re struggling with yourself.
Don’t get me wrong, I do love my life. However, this unfortunately isn’t a thought I think daily, like “WOW I LOVE MY LIFE!!!” I’m very grateful for my life. I’m grateful for every day, all the people in it. For every opportunity that’s been gifted and thrown my way. There are many things I love in this life. There are many people I love in my life. I think it comes down to one main aspect, me. That’s something I’ll continue to work on until I’m six feet under. I know this is something I’ll struggle with, but it’s something that needs rewiring in my head. More rewiring, because like I said, I’ve surprisingly improved.
Anyway, for today’s blog, I wanted to share 40 of the 101 positive affirmations given to us in the unit to try and help whoever. Whoever might need to see this list and resonate and hopefully come to understand, ‘yeah I am grateful for that, yeah I do feel that, yes I do allow the universe to unfold and let it do it’s thing’. This list has helped me and reminded me of things I tend to take advantage of without realizing it. It’s also helpful seeing a list not so personalized to ME. Instead, seeing a list containing affirmations about the body, our health, our possibilities, our value, our successes, our opportunities, and our hope. Most importantly, our love for this life.
- I am successful in whatever I do.

- I will focus on what is truly essential.

I hope not even half of this list that’ll be in my book, helps someone. I hope you find one reason for you to resonate with. I hope someone finds a reason to keep fighting. Not only for yourself, but for everyone that loves and cares for you in your life.
We need to remember that even though this life is ours, this precious, amazing, gift of LIFE, is not all about us. The world doesn’t revolve around oneself and our issues. We need to remember simply that others have their issues. There are those who have things so much worse. Those who don’t even have the essentials. Those without family and friends. Those without support systems. Those who struggle with something and fight it all alone.
There’s so much to be grateful for. However, it’s hard to truly see the beauty in the world if we cannot find it within ourselves first. I hope this list kick starts some sort of drive and invigorates you to do something out of your comfort zone today. There is so much we can do with this life. It all starts with you. It all starts with self love, first. There won’t be another December 3rd, 2023 we can repeat and do over, we only have today. Use it to your fullest advantage and seize the day.
xoxo
